When It's Not Everything....

Dear All,

I've learned a very precious lesson today: winning is not everything, the most important thing

is that even though you lost the match, there is someone who has waited for you, given you a

rounded applause and cheered for you the entire match.

And guess what? I cried my eyes out when watching Mago-mago Arashi today. I guess lack of

rest, stress, and sore throat could do that to a girl :P.

Wish me luck, I need it for next week onwards.

So....very tired :(

Adilla

New Year, New Year

Assalamualaikum,

Dear All,

this new year has not been the most memorable day to start 2009 to me, since I was deeply

asleep during midnight :p.

Rest assured, I had a very wonderful time in Jakarta when I was staying there for holiday.

It was so nice to be home. I just realised how true my friend was when she mentioned that

home is no longer a journey to her, it is more of a destination currently.

Everytime I'm home, I would be thinking to myself, what am I looking for now?

I have everything that I want and I need, I do not need to be anywhere else to be happy. But I

guess a girl needs an exposure to grow up, most of the time ;).

Exactly one month from now, I'll be celebrating my 21st birthday! I hope I'll be a better person,

a more mature, kind-hearted, responsible, and level-headed person. A person who does not tell

her own miseries to the whole world :p.

And last but not least, of course happy birthday to my dear cousin Rizka, whose birthday is only

one month apart from mine.

Happy belated new year everyone! :)

10 Random Facts ABout Me

Tagged by Anes. Thanks Nes!

1. Cry during movies. I tend to me so melancholic when it comes to watching movies.

That's why a packet of tissue or at least a handkerchief is always in my bag. Can't

really figure out the reason why, but it seems that I always put myself in the

characters' shoes too much, which is fine if it's something like Love Actually, but

is rather...strange if it's Lion King :P

2. Love wayang so much. I spent my childhood reading a lot of wayang comics and books in old

Javanese language which I don't understand. Book fair seems to be a heaven on earth to me,

especially if there are old books being sold there.

3. Me VS high heels. I hardly find it easy to wear high heels to office. But due to some reasons,

I need to wear one to some of the places I attended. I tend to break the heels after 1-2 times

wearing it. Right now, my safest choice would be a pair of sandals!

4. Heavy sleeper and early riser. I find it hard to stay awake after 11 pm everyday.

But some of the days I do go to bed rather late. On the other hand, I can't stay

asleep after 8 am most of the time, no matter how tired I am the night before.

5. Incredibly messy. My messiness is simply legendary. It's not that I hate to keep

things tidy and neat, it's just that more often than not I forget where I put things

and launch a sudden messiness attack to find things that I need.

6. Spicy food and I are just best friend. I find it difficult to eat without chili

sauce. Things that I always buy everytime I went back home are chili sauce in bottles

and sachets packaging. Well,it's a pity that I can't eat sushi with chili sauce :P

7. My MP3 player and I are inseparable. I'm not exactly music-savvy and don't always

know what the latest songs, etc. I tend to listen to only several songs in my MP3

player, get bored and change the songs once in a while everytime I hear new ones

which I find nice and catchy.

8. Am bad with money. Managing my own expense is not my forte. I guess being a

business student doesn't always mean that you're good at planning you financial need :P.

9. Super-buyer. This is the nickname I earned from my mother. She almost gets

frustated everytime I go home, since she knows exactly how many things I need to buy.

:P

10. Am a reserved and private person. I get told this by a lot of people which is true. It's rather

difficult for me to trust people that I just know for a short period of time, but I

warm up to people quite quickly even though it doesn't always mean I open up to them :).

Next, I'm tagging Vanya, Ayu, Ryan, and Gita! ;)

Rules:

  • each blogger must post these rules.
  • each blogger starts with ten random facts/habits about themselves.
  • bloggers that are tagged need to write on their own blog about their ten things and post these rules. At the end of your blog, you need to choose ten people to get tagged and list their names.
  • don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’ve been tagged and to read your blog.

Moderate, moderate

Dear All,

really sorry for practically dissapearing and didn't update this blog for God knows how long.

Not that I'm that busy with work, but somehow writer's block hinders me from writing anything,

let alone updating my blog.

Would really love to add pictures and some photos of my office's Friday activity, so that you all

will know I'm coping up just fine.

Probably we will have some things to discuss here, ne?

Take care and see you all around ;)

Fold Up!

Dear All,

so sorry for the long break. Was really tied up with work, but I'm quite happy that now I get to

interview the candidates myself! A lot of interesting stories I heard from my candidates, and

another lesson learned: be thankful with what you have now :).

Life is indeed a journey. Let's make it a beautiful one :D

Dizzying, Dazzling

Dear All,

these few days flies so fast! It seems like only yesterday I was trembling with fear the first time

I entered my office building. Now it's a place I'd like to call 'MY office' :D.

There had been a pretty big hazard happening lately, something to do with AIG, but I'm quite

glad to hear its subsidiaries are alive and kicking!

Anyway, for these last 10 days, I really do hope that all of us can get 'Lailatul Qadar'.

I'll begin fasting again next Monday, and I'm looking forward to it.

Love,

A Second Helping

Dear All,

sorry for not updating for quite long. I must confess I was quite overwhelmed with a few new things that distracted my attention so far.

It's already the second week and I still can't believe my luck. I have survived! And I love each and every moment I spent at my workplace, no matter how boring it was.

Well, I guess a girl needs to grow up sometimes ;)

Charge Me Up

Astrology of today:

Your energy levels are rather low right now, but they seem to be heading for an upswing. It's a good time for low-key activities with friends and family that can recharge your emotional batteries.

Very, very true.

Please hand me my charger. Thanks.

To Have and To Hold

Assalamualaikum,

Dear All,

sorry for not blogging for so long. I'm sound and alive, and pretty much happy.

I just realised something (quite belatedly, I know). That more often than not we're so busy

thinking and wishing for things that we don't have rather than being thankful of what we have.

And when we finally realise how lucky we actually are, it's usually too late.

Probably that's the irony of life, small little wonders out there that are still waiting for us to

be understood :)

Going, Going, Gone

Assalamualaikum,

It's gone. A month has gone, in a blink of an eye. And I'm officially tired.

Dengue fever or no dengue fever, I don't know what has caused some hectic thoughts. Probably it's just me.

I'm getting old :P.

Ever thine.Ever mine.Ever ours.

Very, very, very touching and beautiful, indeed :)

Famous love letter by Victor Hugo

To Adele Foucher

My dearest,
When two souls, which have sought each other for,
however long in the throng, have finally found each other ...a union, fiery and pure as they themselves are... begins on earth and continues forever in heaven.

This union is love, true love, ... a religion, which deifies the loved one, whose life comes from devotion and passion, and for which the greatest sacrifices are the sweetest delights.

This is the love which you inspire in me... Your soul is made to love with the purity and passion of angels; but perhaps it can only love another angel, in which case I must tremble with apprehension.

Yours forever,
Victor Hugo (1821)

Regret Nothing, Fear Less

Dear All,

how are you? Sorry for not updating for sooooo long. Been pretty tied up with works and everything. I'm preparing myself for a roller-coaster ride now.

We have to move out from our very comfortable place to a significantly larger flat, though it is more 'mature' compared to our current flat. The good news is it's a stone-throw away from Buona Vista MRT! W e can just strut our walk there, and not having to take any bus to MRT station like previously.

My meager budget definitely gives a sigh of relief. Thanks to Puff and Dira for the hardwork!

Best,

Oh, The JOY!

Assalamualaikum.

I have forgotten the joy of being listened to, and I realised that I have probably lost it since quite sometime. The drawback of being an introvert? Not exactly, some people can voice their own thoughts well even if they are acute introvert.

Been told by someone this " Sometimes being nice doesn't always get you what you want".

True in some ways I guess. But it's not always about getting what I want, but getting what I NEED.

Stack, Fly, and Bump!

Assalamualaikum,

how are you, everyone? Hope you had wonderful week. Just came back from Surabaya, and so sorry for the lack of update.

It is sure a beautiful city, less crowded than the good old Jakarta, and filled with wonderful cuisines (I tried sioke, a Javanese version of roasted chicken, and for sure, you could not have too much of that thing. It is addictive!)

Anyway, the journey back was less than good. Yours truly took a budget airline (not unusual to me, I assure you) and was surprised when a stewardess gracefully dropped a glass of mineral water in front of yours truly's lap and she might safely declare that was all she was going to get!.
In this case what you see is what you really get, and yours truly was so relieved she had taken a trouble to eat at least more than what her stomach desired a few hours back.

It didn't end up there. After less-than-comfortable journey and some huff-and-puff along the immigration counter, the real challenge began: THE BAGGAGE.

How they ended up having THREE different airways with THREE different bunch of baggages in the same belt I did not know.

So at that afternoon, yours truly was forced to be happy to juggle between having to wait for her baggage and having to attend a 5 pm meeting at Orchard, bless her.

Baggage arrived, and finally, she was able to drag her f*t b*ttom and live those poor people waiting.

Well, I was a Lion Air 's passenger, hear me roar! :P

Sad Cypress

A gloomy day today. I'm trying so hard to cheer myself up, but to no avail. Guess progesterone begins to work its wonder. Found this pray suited the condition of my heart today:

Bismillah irRahman irRaheem
In the Name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Kind

Allahumadz hib'annial hamma wal huzna.

Ya Allah, hilangkanlah dariku kesusahan dan kesedihan.
